Sam got a gift certificate for my newborn photography service from her dear friend. When clients book directly, I know they like my work and my style. But I don’t know if the client who receives a gift certificate for my service will like my work or now. When Sam checked out my work after receiving the gift certificate at her baby shower, she was very excited to book a newborn session with me.

When Sam brought her newborn baby boy Charlie to my studio, it was my turn to be excited. He was adorable and I loved Sam and her husband’s personality a lot so it was a fun session. And they brought a very special quilt made by Sam’s mom and hat and shoes knitted by Sam’s sister. I love my client’s props as long as they can be photographed in my style. I really loved the hat and wanted to have the exactly same one. 🙂

New parents need a lot of things getting ready for the baby and a baby shower is great for families and friends to contribute what they need and want for the baby-to-arrive. I love cute baby clothes but their life span is so short – maybe a couple of months as newborn babies grow so fast. Toys and baby stuff are useful but babies will also outgrow them quickly. A gift certificate for newborn photography is a gift that will be appreciated for many years. I wonder why not all the expecting moms get it as a baby shower gift.

Sam was lucky to receive this special gift and she will be able to appreciate the images of Charlie in his first days for years to come.
