Not very long after I photographed the cutest newborn baby boy Wilson, I got to photograph him, his adorable sister, and their cousin from Calgary.

My client Julie’s sister was visiting Vancouver, and Julie and Julie’s sister planned a very special Christmas gift for their mom – a photo of three grandchildren! We had the session in November but the reason I am blogging this session now is because they wanted it to be a surprise for their mom – no public sharing before Christmas.

Photographing two 2 years old toddlers and a newborn baby doesn’t always go as planned. While I was positioning the newborn, one or both toddlers were on their own move. While I was positioning one toddler, the other one wanted to get up and explore my home studio. Then it was another challenge to have all three of them to look at the camera. So I played a game with the toddlers – a dropping and catching cashews game. I often come up with a game like this to give babies and kids some fun to come into my camera frame. Some times it works and some times it doesn’t but most times, it works.

Here are a few photos from the session. I wonder what their grandma’s reaction was when she saw these photos.
