Sometimes I get last minute bookings. Ethan’s mom contacted me when Ethan was about 2 weeks old. Luckily I was available to photograph him when he was about three weeks old.

First of all, I admire Ethan’s mom who was able to make time to contact me in her first weeks as a new mom. When you think about choosing a photographer to document your baby’s first days, you might consider many things. Do you like her style? Do you feel you can trust that she will handle your baby well and safely? Does what she offers have good value? Where is she located? etc. So imagine Ethan’s mom putting these questions in mind and making her decision quickly so she doesn’t miss out the chance to capture Ethan’s newborn stage, which will never come back.

As you can see from the images, Ethan was quite alert and was awake quite a bit. I started with images with parents first when he was awake and moved on to props and eventually he fell asleep. Newborn photography after the first two weeks might not be the same as one within two weeks from birth. But I will still encourage all the new parents to go for it whichever stage your baby is at. For sure, newborn stage is probably one of the most priceless stage to capture.
