Before I became a full time maternity/newborn photographer, I was a part-time (on-weekend) photographer and worked at DDB Canada as a full time web developer. For years, I believed computer programming is my career destination. Then my baby came along in my life and after a year mat leave, I had to decide whether I would go back to my full time position or run my own business. It wasn’t an easy decision but very clear one. In a way, my baby made me take a leap of faith and pursue my passion. After a year and half, here I am, running a successful photography business and taking the next step to grow even more.
I value all the steps I took in my life because each step brought me new learnings and amazing people. It was at DDB where I met this wonderful lady, Charisse – Maliha’s mom. When she shared the news that she was expecting, I was as happy as when I found out I was pregnant. It was a long waited miracle and that much special.
I was thrilled to meet Maliha and photograph her. ‘Miracle’ just fits right. She is a miracle and photographing her was an honour. Watching Charisse’s tears when she saw the slideshow of Maliha’s images just melt my heart because I know this experience along with the beautiful images of her miracle baby is the best gift I could ever give to her.
Here are some of my favourites.
